In a rapid response to earlier complaints from the Minnesota Republican Party, Secretary of State Mark Ritchie’s office has released a letter to GOP lawyer Tony Trimble, stating, “Voting machines experience minor issues from time to time that do not disenfranchise voters but that require election judges and officials to take action. This is not new in the election process.”

Included in the letter from Secretary of State lawyer Bert Black are email exchanges between election officials in Dakota and Rice counties and state elections director Gary Poser. The local officials detail the problems with some machines and note that all have been resolved.
