SOS website reports slight adjustment in Dayton/Emmer vote count

Tiny changes in vote totals for the Minnesota governor’s election — narrowing Mark Dayton’s margin —  have appeared on the Secretary of State Office’s website today.

The new totals show Dayton ahead by 8,753 votes as of 11:30 a.m.; last night the total was 8,781. If the margins stay that wide through the canvassing process, there will be an official recount.

All figures are unofficial until Nov. 23, and counties can make updates until Nov. 12. The website updates every 10 minutes.

With apparently all 4,136 precincts in the state now reported, here’s the tally:

  • TOM HORNER  — 251,489 — 11.94 percent
  • TOM EMMER    —  910,471 — 43.21 percent
  • MARK DAYTON — 919,224 — 43.63 percent
