Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty tweeted his support of Sarah Palin today, after Politico ran a story saying Republican leaders are trying to stop her attempt to run for the presidency in 2012.
The story says that after the midterm elections, the national GOP establishment’s next urgent task is to stop Sarah Palin, because they think if she runs against President Obama, it would be a disaster for Republicans.
But Pawlenty said today on his Twitter account: “Politico story is way off. Palin deserves great credit for all her work on GOP’s behalf.”
Palin, herself, was on Fox news Sunday attacking the story:
“Politico, Mike Allen and Jim VandeHei, they’re jokes. This is a joke to have unnamed sources tearing somebody apart limb by limb. If they would man up and if they would, you know, make these claims against me, then I can debate them, I can talk about it, but to me, they’re making stuff up again.”
She noted there were many unnamed sources in the article:
“I don’t think the paper that we just printed this article on, you know, it’s not worth even wrapping my King Salmon in. I’ll just ignore this crap.”
