Betcha didn’t know that there’s a word for “the study of elections.”
There is, and appropriately Merriam-Webster has posted it as its “Word Of The Day.”
The word is psephology — pronounced see-fol-o-jee.
It is the scientific study of elections, the dictionary’s site asserts.
As in: “When a handful of elections tumble into a recount tonight, many political geeks will be transformed into amateur psephologists.”
Good word to impress your friends.
