House GOP names Morrie Lanning as Finance chair to replace Buesgens

Republican Rep. Morrie Lanning of Moorhead will chair the Minnesota House’s State Government Finance Committee in the Minnesota House. That’s the committee that once was to be headed by Rep. Mark Buesgens of Jordan, who resigned before he started, apparently because he thought other Republicans didn’t like his appointment.

Speaker-designate Kurt Zellers made the announcement today, noting that Lanning has been in the House since 2002. Before that, he was mayor of Moorhead and a City Council member.

This is what I hate about politics. How can we get balanced governance when this kind of thing goes on?
