More commissioners depart as Pawlenty term nears end

With just three weeks left for the Tim Pawlenty administration, two more of his appointed commissioners have announced they’re leaving for new jobs.

While we wait for word of Gov.-Elect Mark Dayton’s appointments (we already know DOT Commissioner Tom Sorel is staying on), there was word Friday that David Metzen, director of the Minnesota Office of Higher Education and a longtime University of Minnesota regent, will become become provost for the for-profit Globe University, in Woodbury.

And Minnesota Pollution Control Agency Commissioner Paul Eger will leave to become vice president of government affairs for the Minnesota Association of Realtors.

Will Mr. Pawlenty be toting his albatross, that Molnau woman, with him to his next destination? Should we inquire or even care?
