Tony Sutton not sure he’ll run again to be state GOP chair

Tony Sutton, the outspoken point man, and sometimes hatchet man, for the Minnesota Republican Party, says he’s not sure he’ll run again to be state party chair, reports MPR.

Sutton, the head of the Baja Sol restaurant chain, has been in the volunteer job since June 2009.

He said: “I serve as a volunteer. I basically thought it would be more like part-time, volunteer position and it’s more like a double full-time job.

He said he’ll decide in January whether to run.

Wouldn’t it be nice if the running that Tony ended up doing was from pitchforks of the moderate GOPers who now realize their party has become the party that is expected to march in lock-step with Herr Tony.

It’s too bad that GOPers on the far right can’t disagree with their more moderate bretheran without becomming so disagreeable. But as they lock out the moderates, they also lock out money and anyone who might have thought of joining the party in the future. So sad.

Suttonly, he does not want to play any more. Has he lost his marbles?

Those would be some big shoes to fill.
