Update: Weather forces cancellation of Saturday transit station dedication

Update: Saturday’s dedication ceremony for the new transit station on I-35W at 46th Street has been canceled because of expected bad weather.

Metro Transit newest transit station — the one in the middle of the I-35W freeway at 46th Street in Minneapolis — will be officially dedicated Saturday morning.

The station gives commuters access to buses on the freeway from towers on 46th Street. Stairs and elevators are available; buses pull in and out of the station directly from the freeway.

A ribbon-cutting is scheduled for 11 a.m., and the 46th Street bridge over the freeway will be closed to traffic during the ceremony.
