Goff & Howard PR firm gets new name: Goff Public

St. Paul-based Goff & Howard public relations and public affairs firm — founded in 1966 — is announcing a new name today.

St. Paul-based Goff & Howard public relations and public affairs firm — founded in 1966 — is announcing a new name today. The company, a familiar presence in Capitol corridors and political circles, is now called Goff Public.

President Chris Georgacas said the new name was derived from: “‘Goff,’ which draws on our successful reputation established over 45 years in business, and ‘Public,’ which reflects our expertise in public relations and public affairs.”

The firm was founded by Bob Goff and Nick Coleman Sr., who was a state senator. Coleman, who went on to become majority leader, died in 1981. St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman and former newspaper columnist Nick Coleman are his sons. Goff remains as chairman of the company.

The firm says its “team of 12 will continue to help clients of all sizes solve problems and take advantage of opportunities through media relations, social media, community relations, lobbying, and other communication tools.”
