Gov. Mark Dayton continued his string of appointments this morning with word that Mary Tingerthal, an expert in affordable housing development and finance, will head the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency.
Tingerthal is currently president of Capital Markets Cos. for the Housing Partnership Network. She’ll now head the agency that functions as the state’s affordable housing bank, helping Minnesotans buy, rent and fix up homes. The agency is currently working hard to prevent foreclosures.
“Mary Tingerthal brings outstanding state and national expertise in housing finance and policies. Her leadership will propel the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency back into its traditional role as not only our state’s premier public housing finance institution, but also a national leader in helping lower- and middle-class families afford to buy homes and stay in them.”
