Gov. Mark Dayton held a conference call today with Govs. Jack Dalrymple of North Dakota and Dennis Daugaard of South Dakota, and Premier Greg Selinger of Manitoba to discuss preparations for flooding this spring that is expected to be serious.

The four also plan to meet in a few days at the National Governors Association Winter Conference in Washington, D.C., Feb. 26-28, to further discuss the issue in face-to-face meetings.

Dayton also said he is sending Kris Eide, executive director of the Minnesota Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, to a flood coordinating meeting in Bismark, N.D., next week, where staff from the three states and the province will do more flood emergency management planning.
