Parent selected for interim St. Paul School Board seat

The St.

The St. Paul School Board has selected Jeff Risberg to fill an open seat on the board.

Risberg, the parent of a Central High School student, will sit on the board until an election in November can fill the seat left empty when Vallay Varro resigned to head an education lobbying group. Risberg, who works for the state Pollution Control Agency, doesn’t plan to run in the election.

Forty-one people had initially applied for the interim spot; a round of interviews narrowed the field until Risberg, 54, was chosen last night.
