Former Republican Rep. Laura Brod is joining the Minneapolis-based law firm of Lockridge Grindal Nauen. It announced today a consulting alliance with Brod, who was recently named to the University of Minnesota Board of Regents.

According to a release from the firm, Brod, of New Prague, will serve as a senior strategic adviser assisting with business development, state and federal government affairs, and will provide strategic counsel to the firm’s current clients.

Lockridge Grindal Nauen claims to be is the only Minnesota law firm with a Washington, D.C., federal government relations team, and Brod will work with that unit and state-based clients.

“We have a terrific lobbying team, and while Laura will not do any lobbying herself, I’m thrilled to have her affiliated with our firm. Laura will be a key player in building and strengthening our government relations practice and really all areas of our firm, to be best positioned for new business development opportunities,” said Ted Grindal, LGN partner in charge of government affairs.
