Former Congressman Martin Sabo and St. Paul Deputy Mayor Paul Williams have been named to the Minnesota Ballpark Authority by Gov. Mark Dayton.

Sabo served in the state Legislature before serving in Congress from 1979 to 2007. Williams, a new member of Mayor Chris Coleman’s administration, previously had been senior vice president for the Local Initiatives Support Corp.

They replace Mike Vekich and John Wade as the governor’s selections to the board, which was created by the 2006 Legislature to oversee the design, construction and operation of Target Field.
