A new website put together by the University of Minnesota’s River Life Partnership is designed as a forum for information and insights into flooding around the region.

It’s meant to be interactive, with its own Facebook page and Twitter reports that let users chime in with their observations and questions.

There’s also a blog, plus an atlas with historic maps and documents.

Together, the facets of the forum offer a look into the collective flood experience, organizers say, offering a look at such things as:

What impacts are the floods having, and what might be the long-term effects of the rising waters? What do government agencies and river organizations think? What are the experiences of local citizens as well as policy makers?

The forum is run by River Life coordinator Patrick Nunnally, who said he welcomes email suggestions and comments at rlp@umn.edu/.
