Coleman’s St. Paul State of the City speech is Monday

St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman will deliver his annual State of the City speech Monday at the Oxford Community Center.

The 4 p.m. speech will be streamed live online, for those who can’t be there.

I’m guessing he’ll have a prepared speech to deliver, with a few ad libs thrown in to be topical. He’s a good presenter/performer — witness his MinnRoast sketch at the Pantages two weeks ago.

And three years ago, Coleman gave his State of the City speech without a written text or teleprompter, just a few note cards. It went pretty well.

This year, no doubt, we’ll hearing about state aid (or the lack of it) and property taxes and light rail and development and a new Saints stadium and other matters.
