Lynn Anderson, who’d been chief of staff to former Gov.

Lynn Anderson, who’d been chief of staff to former Gov. Rudy Perpich 20 years ago, has been hired as the new deputy commissioner of the Minnesota Management and Budget department.

She takes the job previously held by Jim Schowalter, who was named commissioner of the department by Gov. Mark Dayton. In the job, she’ll help manage agency activities, work on administration initiatives and oversee MMB employees.

Anderson held several jobs in the Perpich administration and served as as chief of staff from 1987 to 1991. More recently, she’s worked in management positions at Delta Dental, the Minnesota Private College Council and at Macalester College.

Anderson will start the new job on April 13.
