Former Congressman Jim Oberstar will offer “A Perspective on a Career in Public Life” in a speech Friday at the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey Center.

He’ll speak at 10 a.m. in the Cowles Auditorium at the Humphrey Center.

Oberstar served 18 terms in Congress, representing the 8th District in northeastern Minnesota, and was chair of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.

He lost in November, in a stunning upset, to Chip Cravaack.
