Ramsey County Commissioner McDonough part of group meeting Tuesday with Obama

Ramsey County Commissioner Jim McDonough will be part of a delegation of 60 county commissioners from urban areas to meet Tuesday with President Obama and Vice President Biden at the White House.

McDonough is vice chair of the Large Urban Counties Caucus, which is meeting this week in Washington.

The group plans to talk with the president about federal-local partnerships, workforce development, transportation and transit infrastructure, development of sustainable communities and criminal justice issues.

Said McDonough in a statement:

“It will be an honor to discuss the dreams and the needs of Ramsey County residents and businesses with the president and his staff. The strong working relationships and ongoing partnerships with our federal representatives and the Obama administration are key to making the Ramsey County Board’s vision for a prosperous future a reality.”
