Marina McManus will be the new director of public health in Ramsey County starting in July. She’s been head of Anoka County’s Community Health and Environmental Services Department for the past 20 years.
Ramsey County Manager Julie Kleinschmidt made the selection, saying: “Marina brings a breadth and depth of public service to Ramsey County. I am confident that she will be able to make a high-performing department even better.”
Over a 40-year career in public health and public safety, McManus also has served as deputy commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Public Safety and as nursing director in the St. Louis County Public Health Department.
She has a nursing degree from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth and is a graduate of the Leadership Program at Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government.
St. Paul-Ramsey County Public Health serves St. Paul and the other cities in Ramsey County.
