Although both sides seem to remain firmly entrenched in the Minnesota state budget standoff, at least there’s a report that the DFL governor and GOP legislators will meet Friday.

Beyond exchanging pleasantries, though, it’s not clear what each side will say.

Michael B. Brodkorb, communications director for the state Senate Republican Caucus, and deputy director of the state Republican Party, alerted reporters in a Wednesday email:

Senate Majority Leader Amy Koch spoke with Gov. Mark Dayton today on the phone and she requested a meeting to continue budget negotiations. While Gov. Dayton was not available today or tomorrow, a meeting with Gov. Dayton will take place on Friday, June 3rd, at 9AM. The meeting location has yet to be determined and I will update you via e-mail/Twitter when the location is finalized.
