Vadnais Heights Mayor Sue Banovetz received the Minnesota Women in City Government Leadership Award earlier this month at the League of Minnesota Cities meeting in Rochester.

The award was given for her achievement in their city leadership and mentoring roles both inside and outside of their community.

She’ll be honored by city officials and residents July 6 at 6 p.m., before the city’s regular city council meeting. The reception, with a presentation at 6:15 p.m., is at Vadnais Heights City Hall, 800 E. County Road E.

Banovetz has been mayor since 1997 and served on the City Council before that.
