Walz holds town hall meetings Monday on budget

U.S. Rep. Tim Walz will hold town meetings Monday in Rochester and Winona to hear from folks about balancing the federal budget and reducing the deficit.

There will be a hands-on, interactive budgeting activity.

The Monday meetings are:

  • 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. — Rochester Community and Technical College, 3rd Floor College Center
  • 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. —  Winona State University,  Kryzsko Commons, East Hall

Said Walz:

“Serious conversations about how to reduce spending and create a secure fiscal future for all Americans are happening across the country. These town halls will give Minnesotans a hands-on opportunity to make decisions about federal spending, build consensus amongst their neighbors, and provide me with feedback on how we can work together to balance the budget and ensure more people can achieve the American dream in years to come.”

Those planning to attend can RSVP to his office at 507-206-0643 or here.

Sounds like an ‘I feel your pain’ moment.
What does he expect to hear that hasn’t been said already?

You’re not going to get a consensus when two sides have locked themselves into incompatible positions, which at least one said has made it clear will not be modified.
