Minneapolis is No. 9 on a list of the most walkable cities in the United States, according to a report prepared by the Walk Score website.

The site ranks cities using an algorithm that measures the walkability of individual addresses based on proximity to nearby amenities like grocery stores, restaurants, schools and parks.

The report says Minneapolis’ most walkable neighborhoods are Downtown West, Loring Park, Lowry Hill East. Minneapolis’ least walkable neighborhoods are Shingle Creek, Bryn Mawr, Victory.

  • Boston, 79.2
  • Chicago, 74.3
  • Philadelphia, 74.1
  • Seattle, 73.7
  • Washington, D.C., 73.2
  • Miami, 72.5
