Tony Sutton, the Minnesota Republican chairman who’s been working for free the past two years, will now be paid $100,000 a year for doing the job, the Star Tribune reports.
He didn’t take a paycheck from the party while running the Baja Sol Mexican restaurant chain, but left that job to briefly run a political consulting firm, the paper said.
He will be paid $8,000 a year less than the DFL state chair, Ken Martin, leading Sutton to tell the paper: “The Republicans are getting more bang for their buck.”
One thing for sure if Tony Sutton stays on- the Republican party in Minnesota will be leaner. No self respecting party member would stay on in light of all the damage Tony has done to the party in this past session. And party donations are bound to spiral…unless it’s true what they are saying about the top 2%. I can’t believe he will now be rewarded for being one of the most manipulative leaders ever to be associated with the GOP. Is everyone sleeping?
