Cannon Falls deli names turkey sandwich for Obama — bet he wishes he’d ordered a hero

President Obama’s visit to Cannon Falls last week will have at least one lasting effect: The Old Market Deli, where the president ate lunch, is naming the sandwich he ordered after the president.

It’s the turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread.

The ThisWeek newspaper site says the president’s sandwich was prepared under the watchful eyes of Secret Service agents.

The deli will also put a special marker on the chair that Obama used — the middle one facing the window.

Before the president arrived, the Secret Service had a bomb dog sniff through the restaurant and made the staff go through metal detectors, the story said.

A “turkey” sandwich? Is this some kind of political comment? That area IS heavily Republcian…hmmm.

They named a turkey sandwich because the President ordered a turkey sandwich.

The “Hope & Change Sandwich” would have made a political statement, by being two slices of bread with nothing between them.
