Days after dedication, vandals hit I-35W bridge memorial

On Monday, officials dedicated the I-35W Bridge Remembrance Garden to honor the victims of the bridge collapse four years ago.

Wednesday morning, officials discovered the memorial had been vandalized.

The Star Tribune has a picture, showing someone had ripped stainless steel letters off the monument. (You can see the pre-vandalized letters in our MinnPost picture from Monday.)

Mindless idiocy. Such people have no concept that they are members of a community, and that their actions destroy a sense of pride in the heritage of “all for one and one for all” that is Minnesota’s glory.
