Even after the shutdown, some legislators will meet the public at State Fair

You might have thought that state legislators would lie low after the embarrassing state shutdown this summer, but you’d be wrong.

State representatives from both parties are scheduled to be at the House booth in the Education Building most days of the State Fair, which starts Thursday.

Fair visitors can also vote every day in a non-binding poll on the big issues of the day: definition of marriage, publicly funded preschool education for all children, expanding gambling and adding clothing to the list of taxable items.

Thursday, Aug. 25
