Peggy Ingison, who’s been the chief financial officer for the Minneapolis Public Schools, will be the new CFO of the Minnesota Historical Society, starting next month.

She will serve on the senior leadership team and be responsible for oversight of all financial functions, including accounting, audit, budget development, contracting, risk management, purchasing, payroll, endowment and financial planning.

She’s been with the Minneapolis schools since January 2007. Before that, she was state commissioner of finance from February 2004 to December 2006.

Stephen Elliott, MHS director and CEO, said nice things about her:

“The Minnesota Historical Society is indeed fortunate to have Peggy Ingison join us in this all-important role at a critical time in the Society’s history. Her vast experience in finance, coupled with her knowledge of Minnesota and state operations, will serve us well as we navigate a challenging financial environment and chart our future course.”
