Monster Jam trucks to help collect school supplies

Two Monster Jam trucks will be parked at the Lucy Craft Laney Elementary School in Minneapolis Friday to help collect school supplies for students in the area that was hit by the May 22 tornado.

From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, “Grave Digger” and “Grinder” will be parked at Lucy Craft Laney, 3333 Penn Ave. N. Photos can be taken with the trucks and drivers.

Visitors are asked to bring donations of school supplies, such as backpacks, school boxes, No. 2 pencils, spiral notebooks, crayons, glue sticks and pocket folders. Cash donations are welcome, too. Officials said 98 percent of the school’s 600 students receive free or reduced-price lunch.
