Gov. Mark Dayton and Sens. Amy Klobuchar and Al Franken are flying over the Boundary Waters fire this morning to survey the damage caused by the fire that’s already consumed 160 square miles.

More than 400 firefighters are working to control the blaze, which slowed Thursday but threatens to start expanding again with warmer temperatures and windy conditions.

The politicians will attend a briefing from firefighters to learn more about the fire situation, and then they’ll hold a press briefing at noon.
