Dayton’s job tour continues today in Virginia, Minn.

Gov. Mark Dayton is in Virigina, Minn., this morning on the latest leg of his statewide tour that’s designed to find ways to create jobs and highlight the state’s business climate.

He’s previously been in Winona, Fergus Falls and Brainerd, and there are more stops to come.

Today’s event includes a panel at Mesabi Range Community and Technical College featuring IRRRB Commissioner Tony Sertich, DEED Commissioner Mark Phillips, Virginia Mayor Steve Peterson, Northeast Higher Education District President Sue Collins, and other representatives from local businesses, manufacturers, the mining industry and a student, the governor’s office said.

These wide-ranging meetings are set to culminate in a statewide jobs summit next month.

Considering Bemidji had the highest unemployment rate in Minnesota last month beating out Brainerd you’d think the gov would be stopping in Bemidji on a jobs tour? Where are you Mr. Gov? I don’t think he’s been in town except maybe at a press conference at the airport.
