Gov. Dayton in Washington for governors meeting

Gov. Mark Dayton is in Washington, D.C., today for a business meeting of the executive committee of the National Governors Association. He’s one of nine governors on the committee.

After the morning meeting, he’s got lunch with Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman, Delaware Gov. Jack Markell, and U.S. Sen. Mike Johanns of Nebraska and Sen. Tom Carper of Delaware.

Then Dayton and other Democratic governors will meet with Senate and House Democrats on the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction, followed by a meeting at the White House with White House Chief of Staff Bill Daley to discuss job creation.

He comes back to Minnesota tonight.
