U of M students hold concert for African hunger victims

A concert to raise money for starving people in the Horn of Africa will be held Friday by two students groups at the University of Minnesota — Students for Justice in Palestine and Al-Madinah Cultural Center.

It’s called Harmony for the Horn and will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at the St. Paul Student Center theater, on the University’s St. Paul campus.

Performing will be: The Sound of Reason from Montreal, Khaled M from Chicago and several local performers, including he Zaghloool, Abdiphenominon and Seven Days a Capella.

Organizers say that the theme of the concert is freedom and the Arab Spring, but that all proceeds will be sent to Islamic Relief to assist drought victims in the Horn of Africa.
