Gov. Dayton helping to raise money to defeat marriage amendment

Gov. Mark Dayton will be featured at an entertainment fundraiser Monday that will support a group opposing the proposed constitutional ban on gay marriages.

The 7:30 p.m. variety show, called “Center Stage for Marriage — Home for the Holidays,” is raising money for Minnesotans United for all Families, a group trying to defeat the proposal on the November statewide ballot that would change the state Constitution to allow marriage only between one man and one woman.

The show will be at the new Cowles Center, 528 Hennepin Ave., Minneapolis.

Featured appearances, along with Dayton, are:

  • Todd Peterson

Ticket prices are:

  • Preferred seating and ticket to VIP after-party with cast: $75
  • General admission: $45
  • Student/Artist tickets: $20
