There was plenty of cheering at the Governor’s Residence Sunday during that back-and-forth Vikings game.

Gov. Mark Dayton had invited a bipartisan group of lawmakers to watch the game in the festively decorated mansion.

Not much shop talk during the game, says spokesperson Katie Tinucci. But they did have birthday cake for state Rep. Paul Thissen, she said.

The governor’s three dogs were there, too. Mesabi (shown on the couch), Mingo (foreground)  and Itasca (near the governor).
