DFL staffers hired for 2012 election work

The Minnesota DFL Party has hired four new staffers as it gears up for the 2012 national and state elections.

The statewide effort will focus on taking back the House and Senate after the 2010 Republican takeover.

According to the DFL announcement, the new staffers are:

Berrett Gall, finance director. A North Dakota native, he served as finance director for Congressman Earl Pomeroy, state director for Gov. Howard Dean, North Dakota DNC Field Director, and finance director for El Tinklenberg and Jim Meffert’s Minnesota congressional campaigns in 2008 and 2010, respectively.

Mackenzie Taylor, coordinated campaign manager. “Mackenzie graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead in 2007 with a degree in political science,” the DFL said. “She has worked on numerous city council, legislative, congressional and statewide DFL campaigns. In 2010, she served as the Field Director for the Minnesota DFL Coordinated Campaign.”

Kate Monson, communications director. A South Dakota native, she studied religion at St. Olaf College and earned her master’s at United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities. Monson served as communications director for Tinklenberg in 2008 and Meffert in 2010. She also does consulting work for Main Street Communications.

Carlie Waibel, deputy communications director. She’s interned in the DFL communications department and, before that, interned with Sen. Tom Saxhaug during the 2009 legislative session. She also worked as a field organizer for Jim Meffert’s congressional campaign in 2010.
