Rep. Betty McCollum returns from Bangladesh trip

Congresswoman Betty McCollum, who represents St. Paul and some east metro suburbs, was in Bangladesh for five days on a fact-finding mission, reports MPR.

Her office said she met with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Nobel Prize winner Muhammad Yunus, known for micro-lending, while traveling with Ambassador Melanne Verveer, the State Department’s point person for global women’s issues, the story said.

McCollum also visited Yemen, Israel and Tunisia in the past year.
