Republican state Rep. Murdock won’t run again

State Rep. Mark Murdock, a Republican from Ottertail in his second term, said he won’t seek re-election in November.

State Rep. Mark Murdock, a Republican from Ottertail in his second term, said he won’t seek re-election in November.

Murdock, who represents District 10B, said he wants to spend more time with his family, according to his statement released by the House Republican Caucus.

“After some long discussions with [wife] Pat, other family members and close friends over the holidays, we decided four years at the Capitol is enough,” Murdock said in the statement. “I never went to St. Paul with the intention of being a career politician. This is a citizen Legislature and it is someone else’s turn to have the honor of representing the people of District 10B.”
