Bachmann endorses Quist in 1st District race

U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann has thrown her support to Allen Quist in his bid for the Republican Party endorsement to run for Congress in the 1st District.

Also seeking the endorsement is GOP state Sen. Mike Parry. They both want to the chance to run against Congressman Tim Walz.

Quist’s campaign website notes a letter Bachmann sent to 1st District delegates and alternates in which the congresswoman says: “You should support Allen because he is someone you can trust.”

Quist’s wife, Julie, had worked as district director for Bachmann from 2008 to 2011. It made national news when she quit that job in early 2011, before Bachmann had officially jumped into the presidential race.

The GOP 1st District nominating convention is Saturday in Mankato.

    Not exactly a Quist quest?

Could say, an endorsement by Bachmann is like being bit by a Black Widow spider…sharp pain and once infected, goes on from there…
