For all of the serious finger-pointing going on at the Capitol, there are moments of humor, too.
Senate Majority Leader Dave Senjem, for example, said that late last week he was wandering down a Capitol corridor when he encountered a group of those purple-jerseyed, purple-faced, sword-carrying Vikings fans.
“I saw them and I said, ‘Skol…’ ” he said. “They just picked it up. … ‘Skol, Vikings, let’s win the game’ … Felt like I was leading the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.”
“Skol Vikings” has been the fight song of the football team since its early years:

Given events of the weekend, in which a fringe player is alleged to have beaten a man to a pulp at a party, it might be a song Viking fans lobbying legislators might want to set aside for a spell.
