Sara Tiedeman, the wife of Republican political strategist Chris Tiedeman, has died four weeks after the couple was involved in a car crash.
A post on a web site about the couple’s recovery said:
We are overcome with grief by the loss of Sara. After a valiant four week struggle, Sara now has her wings and is at peace. The family has been comforted by your outpouring of support in this tumultuous time.
Chris Tiedeman, a political strategist who has worked for the Republican Party of Minnesota and on campaigns for former Sen. Norm Coleman and former Gov. Tim Pawlenty, was hospitalized for three weeks and then moved to a health care center.
They were injured March 3 in a head-on crash in Blaine, when another car crossed the median. The other driver died a week later.
Republican Party Chair Pat Shortridge issued a statement Tuesday:
“Our prayers are with Chris and the Tiedeman and Banks families at this very difficult time. A life ended so tragically and so unfairly would be too much to bear for the many, many people who count Chris and Sara among their friends, except that we remember the promise of this Holy Week.”
