Gov. Dayton to wet a line in Lake Waconia for fishing opener

Fresh from his cheerleading stint for the Minnesota Vikings, Gov. Mark Dayton will try another sport this weekend.

He’ll celebrate the annual Governor’s Fishing Opener in Waconia, west of the Twin Cities.

Tonight he’ll attend a community picnic in City Square Park before hitting Lake Waconia at one minute after midnight Saturday.

His fishing guide will be Travis Frank of Trophy Encounters Professional Guide Service.

The governor will fish again Saturday morning, then hold a press conference at Lake Waconia Regional Park.
