GiveMN provides online fundraising for Duluth flood recovery efforts

GiveMN, the online nonprofit fundraising website, is accepting donations to help with Duluth’s flood recovery efforts.

Included in the fundraising project is the Duluth Zoo, which lost many animals in the flood and faces a major rebuilding effort.

The site also is collecting money for Red Cross flood relief work.

As of 10 a.m. Friday, about $5,700 had been raised for the zoo, and $115 for the Red Cross.

The zoo lost a donkey, some sheep and a goat in the flood. It’s polar bear and two seals escaped, but were captured and are being kept temporarily at St. Paul’s Como Zoo.
