St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman will join in a rally Wednesday with community members opposed to the proposed constitutional amendment that would define marriage as only between one man and one woman.

The proposal will be on the November ballot.

Minnesotans United for All Families, a state-wide group working to defeat the amendment, says it is helping area residents to organize the event, to be held at 5:30 p.m. at Mount Zion Religious School, 1300 Summit Ave., St. Paul.

After several speakers address the group, the media will be asked to leave and St. Paul residents attending the event will share their personal stories.
