Kurt Bills, the Republican candidate trying to unseat U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar, will be in the D.C. area Tuesday night raising money at an event hosted by the political Pauls: Texas Congressman Ron Paul and his son, U.S. Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky.
Minnesota Republicans have a thing for Ron Paul; his unsuccessful presidential campaign garnered 12 of 13 national convention delegates at the state convention in May.
That Paul base helped Bills get the party’s nomination for Senate. So far, he trails far behind the incumbent in name recognition and fundraising.
Reports say donors will pay $350 to attend tonight’s event.
