Vice President Joe Biden visits Minneapolis at 12:30 p.m. today, stopping at the Depot in Minneapolis for a campaign stop focusing on the economy, jobs and reducing the national debt.

Biden then goes to Rochester, for a 4:30 p.m. appearance at the Olmsted County Fair.

On Thursday, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney will come to town for a pair of fundraisers in the western suburbs: at the Lafayette Club in Minnetonka Beach and a Shorewood home. High-profile hosts will be former U.S. Sen. Rudy Boschwitz, former Gov. Tim Pawlenty and former U.S. Sen. Norm Coleman.

While Romney’s vice presidential pick, U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan, isn’t listed on the Minnesota invitations, Politico notes that Republican strategists may plan to have the two candidates tour together, possibly at Midwest appearances this week.
