Gov. Mark Dayton has appointed Leonard Weiler as a 7th District Court judge, based in Milaca.
Weiler replaces Judge Skipper J. Pearson, who has retired. That district includes Becker, Benton, Clay, Douglas, Mille Lacs, Morrison, Otter Tail, Stearns, Todd and Wadena counties.
Weiler has been managing attorney for the Public Defender’s office in the 7th District, managing public defender operations within Stearns County and handling criminal cases. He received a B.A. in criminal justice and political science from Moorhead State University in 1985, and a J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law in 1991.
