Gov. Mark Dayton gives a keynote address on farm issues today at the annual Farmfest agricultural exhibition in Redwood County.
He takes the main stage at 1 p.m., shortly after a congressional forum on agricultural and rural issues wraps up.
Democratic Congressmen Tim Walz and Collin Peterson are taking part in the forum, along with Walz’s Republican challengers Allen Quist and Mike Parry.
Quist and Parry face off next week in a hard-fought Republican primary; the winner faces Walz in November.
Also scheduled at the forum were Republican challenger Lee Byberg from the 7th District and Democratic challenger Mike Obermueller from the 2nd District.
On Wednesday at Farmfest, U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar will debate Republican challenger Kurt Bills.
And on Thursday, University of Minnesota President Eric Kaler will speak on “Innovation in Agriculture … Opportunities from the University.”
