The Star Tribune has a short item this morning with a quote from former Gov. Tim Pawlenty on the inspiration for his “tattoo president” remarks in Wednesday night’s RNC speech.

Pawlenty called President Obama the tattoo president, because voting for him seemed like a good idea at the time but not later on.

After speaking to the Minnesota delegation at breakfast in Tampa, Pawlenty credited a recent appearance on Fox News with the inspiration, the paper said:

He said the idea came from an encounter with Fox News’ Neil Cavuto, who pressed him during a recent appearance about his nondescript Minnesota Nice image.

“He was asking me questions about, I can’t remember now, but it was basically, ‘are you bland’ or something,” Pawlenty recalled. “And I jokingly said ‘if you push me, I’ll show you my tats.’ So that was the inspiration.”

  1. Pawlenty is much more than bland –

Unquestionably one of the worst governors of MN
